I’ve lost my frogskins so I’m in the market for some replacements and as I’m unlikely to be able to walk into a shop and try stuff on I’m looking for recommendations

I’ve always liked Oakley lenses and the only problem with the frogskins was they looked a little small on my massive potato of a head!

Budget isn’t really important but they need to be demonstrably better than £20 decathlon jobs to justify 10x the price

Sungod?

Galibier also do some casual style sunglasses that look pretty nice.

Oakley Sliver? They do a rounded frame too I believe. Oakley also (I think) have the measurements on their website so you can compare sizing.

Rudy Project have a good range of casual glasses and aren't owned by Luxottica.

I've been looking at some Rudy Project, how do their lenses compare to Oakley?

My mate has used RP since the 90s, as well as oakleys, he reckons they’re comparable.

I think their photochromic lenses are amongst the best.

Have a look at Goodr. They are cheap, but very good from what I hear

+1 for Holbrooks.
I'm on my third pair. Tried others but just come back to them.
Current ones are custom builds with clear frames & blue mirror polarised lenses.

Holbrooks are good for larger swedes. sungods are are a good fit but the lenses are pretty average. bought some for me and the gf and i bought a pair of oakleys about 4 months later. very average

I have a pair of sliver because sadly frogskins don't suit my face. However the quality of the glasses is poor compared to other Oakleys. I wear them for running so they have a fairly tough life but the lenses haven't held up well and I managed to knock an arm off.

Holebrooks here fitted with Oakley prescription transition lenses

They do suit the larger head and i prefer the look to my Frogskins (Oakley prescription sunglasses for driving)

The Holebrooks get worn every day including commuting to and from work, mtb rides, working on cars, having a 3 year old pull them off my face most days and they have been spot on

I have a pair of Oakley Sylas as they were one of the few that would fit my prescription. I'm really pleased with them and use them on and off the bike.

I’ve actually got a pair of tifosi I picked up in the bike shop but whilst the frame is spot on the lenses are nowhere near as clear as the oakleys

+1 for the SunGods, was recommended them and have 1 pair with a couple of sets of lenses. Had an issue with frame on original pair which was sorted with a super quick replacement and they have now changed the design slightly.

Another +1 for Sungods Renegades. Great value for money and customer service seems very good. I also have Pacebreakers for riding, and they are also excellent.

I've got some Holbrooks from about 10 years ago which are still in good condition and live in the car/van.

I mostly wear Vans Spicoli's when I'm out and about. Cheap to buy and available in a multitude of colours. Cheap enough to not be devastated when you lose them or sit on them.

Recently bought smith lowdown 2 with chromapop lenses, fantastic glasses to wear and the chromapop lens really makes a difference over my previous oakley prizm

I also like the Holbrooks. Sports glasses but not too wrap round or Oakley like.

The "shape" is called vr46 on Aliexpress... 3 or 4 quid delivered. Does me well with two kids under 4! Lenses seem perfectly fine.

I’m liking what I see of the SunGod glasses, especially for the price - very tempted by a pair myself.

You’re going to laugh, but while I have 4 sets of Oakleys, these are probably my favourite sunglasses. Mine are clear/white frames, but otherwise look very similar:

Smith Optics? Maui Jim?

Shady Rays do free replacement if you lose / damage them!

Those Decathlon ones are ace value but cat3 polarised is a "shade" on the low side for Aussie sun. Look alright though for 17 quid.
