I'm off to Bridgewater for the day on Thursday, hopefully getting a ride on the Quantocks too.

It's just me and the bike, so loads of space. Hitch hikers don't exist anymore but I feel like giving a lift would be good thing.
Any ideas about how I can do this?

There's a few websites that do carpooling/ridesharing

https://www.blablacar.co.uk/

I'd have asked to tag along if I wasn't doing jury service next week.

I'll take a look at the lift sharing apps, thanks.

Cue HMHB lyric quote! 🤣

It may not have been quite as awful early on in the day as forecast, however the weather is from the SW as usual, so would get there earlier than here, although probably not by much.

How did it turn out in the end? Hope the Joy Division oven gloves helped in the wet.

Oh dear. What did you do to them?

I saw no hitch hikers at all, much as expected.
Anyway, off I set at early o'clock for a small village just outside of Bridgwater. I plugged the postcode into the satnav and off I went. Cardiff/ Newport/ Bristol on the M4 and M5 were surprisingly smooth, so I was really starting to wonder why the satnav was saying that I had about an hour more than I expected.

It seems that every town in the south west starts with a 'B'. Bridgewater, Bude, Babbacombe, Bristol... oh yes, Bideford too. About 70 miles from from Bridgewater.
That would explain the extra hour. And the (B)Exeter postcode.

I'm an Idiot.
