Hi All, we're booked for this area in July and looking for some type of mobile home/ chalet campsite. We have 2 kids who love pools and kids clubs. So as a compromise, 1 week at a holiday camp type, and 1 week going to Pisa/ Florence/ Padua/ Venice. Any suggestions for the campsites in Lido Di Jesolo? Currently looking at Eurocamp, but any other Italian links would be great. Thanks, C

Dont go to Pisa, it's shite, Florence is a stunning city, but will be an absolute nightmare in July, with kids.

Stay clear of Mestre. I got directed to a campsite there by the Venice tourist office. Think camping in Ellesmere Port.

Hi, we stayed at Marina di Venezia campsite which is on the tip of the peninsula near Punta Sabbioni.

last year it was. We were really impressed with it - Im sure you can free pitch on it? Its massive, really clean and expansive shower and toilet blocks, large and really good pool and water park, bike hire etc. Give it a try - we'd definitely go back to that particular campsite but probably book directly on the campsite website instead of going through Eurocamp

We took a bus into Jesolo and thought it was a bit urban and built up so wouldn't go there again. it was a stark contrast to the beautiful olive and vineyards near ca Savio and our campsite. We didn't even end up going to Venice as we had a 1 year old and couldn't take him into the blazing streets of venice but we still had a great weeks holiday.

anyway, I'd highly recommend marina di Venezia campsite.

Pisa has a tower, it leans, and that's about it...

Highly recommend Camping Miramare. Towards the end of the peninsula (Lido?) near the Punta Sabbioni river bus stop.

We stayed a couple of days last Easter and enjoyed it. As a bonus, they run a shuttle to coincide with the river bus across the lagoon to the city centre. It’s not a long walk, but the bus is most welcome after a day trekking the streets.

Friendly bunch at the site too. Would definitely stay again.

Can’t vouch for kids clubs though, and even if they run them the Inglese options may be a bit limiting. But worth an ask.

Also near beaches on the other side of the lagoon and I think they run a shuttle there too.

...and second comments above.

No more than a morning in Pisa. I’d just do a (half) day trip from Florence on the train.

We didn’t stay there but had a good look round Campin Tropical when we visited Venice. Seemed a nice well organized campsite. For Florence we stayed at Firenze Camping in Town which at the time was newly opened with very plush washrooms and it looks like they have upgraded it a lot since. It was handy to bike into the city as it’s right next to the river and there is a bike path. A friend of mine stayed Here and said it was fabulous with amazing views over the city, but quite a way out of the city but apparently regular busses in. I would also agree with the comments about Pisa. The city itself is fairly unspectacular you could visit from Florence or as we did camp on the coast and drive in. Lots of lovely beaches south of Livorno.

Mestre is handy as a lower-priced alternative base to Venice proper; it’s not a particularly nice town in its own right, although the centre is ok. If you’re only going to be sleeping there it’s acceptable, we’ve stayed in the Hotel Delfino (near the railway station) twice and it’s pleasant enough. A resort with pools & restaurants it isn’t.

Train to Verona is cheap enough once you run out of things to do in Venice. And Lake Garda is only a couple more stops along the line towards Bologna

I camped in Fusina twice on my way to Corfu. Probably about 40 minutes from Lido di Jesolo. Taxi boat right outside the main gate to Venice. Great facilities, but lots of mosquitoes near the water at night time

If you have any interest in caves then a trip to Postojna Cave in nearby Slovenia is well worth it. The cave is huge with a train ride taking you into the cave, lots of stalagtites, cave lizards, WWII stories etc etc, see https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g274878-d277348-Reviews-Postojna_Caves-Postojna_Inner_Carniola_Region.html
