No experience of the auto but I've just sold my IS200 manual. Superb car and utterly bomb proof. I never had any problems with it at all in ten years - bit thirsty though, so I'd imagine the auto likes to slurp it up.
Really, really good car IMHO.
Had two IS200's both were the manual version think the the gearbox is one of the really good points to it, seem to remember that the Auto version was only a 4 Speed so I'd hazard a guess that it's a bit more thirsty.
