Can anybody recommend a good property letting agent in Aberdeen? Or indeed advise of any to be avoided? May be making a move up there soon and I know from renting in Edinburgh for several years that the difference between the decent agents and the bad ones can be massive.

I always used gumtree to find flats in aberdeen but i was always looking for quirky country properties In the city locale

Raeburn christie clark and wallace and aberdein considine are 2 reputable fairly local solicitors doing it , had a faw contracts drawn up by em.

If you need to know anything about a particular area lemme know !

Alright, thanks! Can you give me the lowdown on some of the different neighbourhoods? Which are known as the nicer ones or ones to be avoided for instance?

Also - this may be a strange question but are the aberdeen tenements overrun with rodents like in Edinburgh? May be sharing with someone with a major phobia and it's good to be prepared! 🙂

Depends on budget Anything out west is good - mannofield , cults and out to peterculter

Ferryhills nice for near town an fittie down by beach

Kincorth , mastrick and northfield to be avoided.

Torry is cheap for a reason.

If working in altens , coves a safe bet

Bucksburns not bad lived there for a while , cheap.

Tbh it largely depends on your budget and wants .... 400 quid youll be in torry or kincorth 5-600 youll be better and for ferryhill or west end your looking at about 700ish

Thats for starting price of 1 bedrooms
Cant help on mice front.

Storie Cruden & Simpson. Small company of solicitors who have a property section. Talking from the other side of the fence they certainly make sure everything is done right.

How long are you looking to rent for?

Trail Rat is pretty spot on but there are a few other areas to avoid (though its prob obvious)

Do you have a car an what area will you be working in?

Haha,

To be honest last time I walked down rosemount I thought the locals were looking a little scabby!
Trail rat would have probably fitted in mind.

that's helpful - thanks folks. i had no idea so it's good to hear from those who've lived there themselves. i'm going to be working about three miles west of city centre. not sure whether i'll have a car yet - was hoping to use the bike for commuting if need be, but will test it out when i get there. thanks again!
