Went to see her in Sheffield, an amazing concert, very versatile, lots of instruments and no support act. Fantastic! She does a lot of good work around the world too, I can ignore the religion because she’s a genuine, nice person.

I can't let this be glossed over - MILLIONS of kids can have wonderful, completely free books, one a month, from age 1 to 5 by signing up here:

https://imaginationlibrary.com/uk/

Anbd I dont mean some naff specially created books, its proper, good quality childrens books, exactly the books that are expensive to buy on the high street, and that make such a HUGE difference to a childs upbringing, reading and comprehension skills early in life.

If you have young kids, your a grandparent, have nieces and nephews, or a carer, check it out.

Apparently she’s not as poorly as her sister thought! Good.

My favourite Dolly quote in response to an interviewer asking her about her appearance " Honey - it takes a lot of money to look this trashy"

She for sure is someone who will leave the world a better place for her being in it

She's also cut the high school dropout rate massively in her state.

Have you seen Dolly Parton's new shoes?... Used to be the start of the playground joke. 😊

Love Dolly.

I have very little interest in her musical output but she seems like a genuinely wonderful person and I hope she's feeling better soon, the world needs more people with her attitude to life.

"Decide who you are and do it on purpose"

- Dolly Parton. Great advice in all manner of ways. She is a smart and kind-hearted person who has done a lot of good.

Went to a local tribute festival in the summer and tbh a real highlight was the Dolly Parton tribute act, was great fun.

Didn't she put a fair chunk of cash into funding COVID vaccine research? A lot of good deeds done

That is the kind of person that would make a most excellent president...not just of the USA, but any country.

Dolly’s music has always been a bit too ‘country’ for my taste, but the albums she did with Linda and Emmylou are just lovely. Their voices just blend beautifully, but sadly Linda is no longer able to sing, due to a health issue, which is a great shame - she had one of the best voices in American music.

One little fact I only discovered today, when Peter Gabriel was recording ‘So’, he approached Dolly’s management to see if she could do the female vocals on ‘Don’t Give Up’, but he was turned down, probably because he wasn’t that well known in America, or at least not as a solo artist, so he asked Kate Bush…

A wise choice, but it’s an interesting idea to wonder how it could have sounded with Dolly singing Kate’s part.
