if everyone takes an hour to learn this - then does it with their colleagues at work tomorrow, the world will be a better place

Thanks.....it still makes me laugh, what with the ostrich not knowing which way to run, and the donkey nonchalantly strolling by 😀

I'm always trying to lighten the mood, I thought I'd be miserable, but it's right boring. I am a bit sad that Torminalis isn't about to share his thoughts though. Anyway, here's my contribution... 😯

Did you hear the baby crying? Shouldn't have been watching! Please ... somebody think of the children. 🙄

Torminalis has been quiet, is he on hols or something?

He called the mods a naughty. I don't think they appreciated it. He's not been seen since. Bring back Torm!

Hmmm, I'm thinking of ordering a new Carbon Meta 55 tomorrow.

Oh, you mean on here, errr. I do my best STW thinking in the car on the way to work. I think I'll probably just hi-jack someone else's thread.... take it off topic talking about, errrm, stuff, an' that.

Ooooh. I saw you were asking about the Mojo. You'd be welcome to try mine out but it will be too small for you! Carbon is nice. 🙂

Would you build it up yourself?

Nah, I reckon get the full build and then swap bits off my current meta, buy some bling for it.
😀

I booked myself onto the Trans Provence today so I fell the meta might just be that bit better geometry for it... plus a hell of a lot chepaer than the mojo! Is yours built up then? Recent addition isn't it?

Sounds good. What's the Trans Provence all about?

Yeah, had no intention of changing but saw a small frame come up on the Classifieds and knew the person selling it. Just needed new forks and seatpost, the rest came off the Soul which had previously been on another bike.

Descending is brilliant, very fast pick-up but am struggling with climbing.

7 days of singletrack in the Mediterranean Alps. Uplifts at the start of each day to give more descending than climbing. A more technical and sunny version of the TransWales?

I'm thinking I might need a large, bein 5'10" puts me right on the cusp of M to L. Does my head in. Inch taller or smaller and I'd know which one to go for!

Just been looking at the website - only 50 riders? Looks fantastic, what an experience. 8)

Is that sizing for a Mojo? There was one at the Swinley ride and very nice it was too.

Nah that's for the commi. My current meta is a medium, but sometimes it feels a little cramped, and would be nice to be able to run a 50mm stem. Yeah I was looking at that bike. I threatened to mug him! 😯 That was a standard Mojo though I think. I was toying with the HD.

i cant find pictures of cats that clearly show a cat reacting to authority and one of a cat shouting "your banned"... but the first half of the story is rather accurate 😆

Can anyone tell me how to create direct links with the small screen included in the post? I want to add up some links but have no idea how to do it.

you mean for a youtube vid? It only works with youtube or vimeo but all you do is copy the url of the clip into the box you get if you click on the "video" button above the reply box

Ooooh, lots of laughter for later. 8)

TSY - hold your horses man! Some logic is required here I feel. A frame that doesn't fit? No.

May I suggest a little project for when you are snowed in? Research what's available although probably not a huge choice with a 160mm fork, investigate where they can be demo'd, book demo's even if you have to travel some distance it's still worth doing.

Follow that up by analytical appraisal (including whether that amount of travel is necessary), make short list, compare geometry to what you have at the moment. If you're spending shedloads on a bike, it needs to be right.

The fact that you have doubts says it all.

HTH
C_G habitual buyer of badly fitting bikes 🙄

Thanks G_G.

One problem is I can get a substantial discount on a Meta if I act fast.

2011 Meta Carbon v's 2008 Meta I own.

Slightly slacker .5 deg. = Good.
Slightly longer fork travel 150 v's 140 = Good.
New v's old = good

But what size? Read a review that said if you're inbetween go larger.
I do love my current meta so a spangly new carbon one can only be better, surely? Large or Med, large or med??? Arrrghhh.

Yeah, too true DezB, but I'm still not sure whether I might like one that's a bit longer or not... I'm thinking that if the top tube is an inch longer and I drop from a 70mm to 50mm stem I'll have pretty much the same riding position but sharper handling?

If that's the only difference it should be ok.. Personally, I've always found smaller bikes better than larger.
