Usually by this time of October we are experiencing a low budget WW1 reenactment but it seems a bit quieter this year.

Chavs strapped for cash perhaps?

Have you been outside? Around here I don’t think it’s stopped pissing with rain for long enough to light a fuse

Around here a lot of them get thrown from cars so they can stay dry. The little darlings.

Definitely quieter. Weather hasn't really been up to it though. Lashing it down here.

A bit more chilled out this year in East London for sure, as above it's prob been the rain putting people off

Quite a few fireworks at the demo in London last Saturday, only heard one lot today. But there was lot more coloured smoke grenades today.

Our local display has been cancelled, can't light the bonfire when it's under water or something

I'd say that is a fair assumption. Quite nice acutally.

Has the UK government actually done someting good for society, for a change?

Too soon here thank goodness.  Where I used to live, it may be "over by Christmas".

This festival must have been horrific for demobbed soldiers just after WW1/WW2.

Has there been new laws on selling of them? Does seem quieter.

It’s certainly been quiet around here, there was one loud bang yesterday evening, but that’s been it so far. Most of next week is going to be wet, so probably not much going on then, either.

Our local display has been cancelled, can’t light the bonfire when it’s under water or something

Pathetic! They could have built a raft out of pallets and stacked more on top and set light to it as it drifted gently around the field. No danger of setting light to dry grass and destroying an entire row of houses, either; just let it burn down to the waterline then it puts itself out!
No imagination, some people! 🙄

It's a shame that fireworks that go bang can't be withdrawn from sale.

Diwali falls on Nov 4th this year. Last year it was 24th October. That could be a contributing factor.

I'm reserving judgement as the clocks have just gone back. It's bound to kick off this week.

I bet the local footbal team loves you if you burn the pitch every 12 months 😉

Not heard any yet this autumn.

Really wish they'd just ban sale to the public.

Yes I had an uncle who used to hide in the cellar for days during November sleeping on an old mattress and wearing ear plugs. He was the perfect gentleman the rest of the year but just hated the sudden explosions that was associated with November.

Like the decline in football hooliganism and many other things, stuff like this is usually massively affected by the availability and quality of drugs

You’ll probably find the country is presently awash with oodles of cheap, weapons-grade MDMA so going out in the rain and chucking fireworks at people is much lower down the average scrotes list of priorities

Someone let a few off near me last night (I wish they'd start with a mild one rather than a window-shaking one so I don't crap myself...), I expect there will be plenty tonight.

My daughter’s ballet school had to lock themselves in the building on Tuesday night as a bunch of chavs turned up and started letting off fireworks in the car park. Police actually appeared reasonable quick which was a surprise, but too late to do anything.

We seem to get it for the whole of October and November due to Diwali, Halloween, and the 5th, someone’s birthday, someone’s anniversary, someone’s graduation from play school, someone got out of bed.

When I’m global overlord, they’ll be banned instantly.
