.....on Radio 4.

God forgive me, but it's actually pretty good.
I almost laughed a couple of times.
It's like the past 25 years never happened.....

I didn't hear it but I did listen to the the lockdown interview Louis Theroux did with him. Well worth a listen if you haven't heard it.

Yes, yes he did. I thought the slavery reality show was good.

I never really understood how a comedian who wasn't at all funny could have a career, he was terrible in the 80s then, thankfully, seemed to vanish from TV.

I saw him live in Tunbridge Wells.  Very funny.

It’s because your opinion on whether something is funny or not is subjective and not shared by others. HTH

We listened as well. It was pretty good.
The problem with comedians thrust into the limelight is that when they're in clubs they have a tour to build the material when they're on telly they run out of new things really quickly. Then they need really good writers.
Lenny suffered with this. He's had some time to get back and write (and collaborate with others) and to acknowledge his upbringing.
Good on him.

I really used to love “Chef”. But I was pretty young at the time.

As blokeuptheroad says, his Louis interview was excellent.

I like a lot of his stuff, there's plenty of other comedians I don't like that other people find funny, but it would be a dull world if we all liked the same.

Another big-up to his interview with Louis - I thought Lenny was hilarious when I was a kid, will check out the whatever-it-was on R4. 🙂

He introduced me on stage last year... quite intimidating.  Then he walked away from his teleprompter script and went off on one - he was actually really funny.

He's no less funny than the self indulgence banal drivel on Live at the Apollo, I only watch it in hope I might raise a smile one day.
Lenny is a local working class lad who done good, so middle class ****s can **** right off.

Will give it a listen as I just moved swiftly by it when looking through the comedy section on BBC Sounds. Another 70s/80s person, the Alexei Sayle Imaginery Sandwich Bar series on BBC sounds are very good by the way

I had a listen to the first episode...I really liked him when I was younger. Glad to hear some of his characters are still there. I'll listen to the rest as well. Thanks for flagging this.

His comedy show where a bit hit and miss but off the cuff he came across well. Also seems very thoughtful guy. Will check out interview.

He's OK as long as he avoids his self indulgent singing stuff.

Still good - the new TV show Britain's Next Great Occultist is excellent. Lot's of good observational stuff too.
