In every factory I've worked in, the oddball choices for refreshing cuppas , like hyper salty veg soup, etc, and the perennial fave, Lemon Tea, are always the bottom-most button of the selections on the brew vending machine. Can anyone with the relevant authority confirm or deny that there is some reason for this.
The shortest person in the factory has alwzys been known as something like Dai Lemon Tea, the inference being that this is the only selection he could make due to it being closest to the ground.
Is this a universal phenomenon , or am I just ridiculously lucky to have encountered in EVERY plant I've worked at?
Dai Lemon Tea
I lost it at this. Aaand breathe… umm, sorry, wut. What is the question?
Don't they have it roughly in order of popularity? Regular coffees - which is the machine's raison d'etre -at the top, then teas, then lemon tea at the bottom. Because no-one in their right mind drinks vending machine tea, and no-one at all drinks lemon tea.
(Joking aside, the reason I started drinking coffee at all is because vending machine tea is universally rank. And I quite like lemon tea but I must confess I've never had it out of a vending machine.)
I can’t recall ever coming across a drink vending machine that dispenses lemon tea. Or green tea, for that matter.
In fact, the only drink I’ve ever had from a vending machine that was in any way acceptable, was hot chocolate.
I once knew someone with a vending machine in their garage* with one of the buttons labelled "battery acid". Can't remember what it actually was! Bovril I think.
