Leicester. Points in the bag are worth more than form.

Leicester's to lose but the lack of Vardy has not helped them

Spurs look more "in form" than Leicester at the minute

I think Spurs are a better team than Leicester but everyone neutral wants that fairy tale to end the way it should and this is the most likely outcome.

Whether it will who knows

My nephew is hopefully going to win £17,000 from a £10.00 bet.
He's saving for a house deposit. Go Leicester.
Fingers are crossed.

It has the potential to be a very interesting last day of the season. Spurs will have Newcastle who will probably be needing a result to stay up, whereas Leicester will have Chelski, who all just want this season over and done with, and I've heard it rumoured don't like Spurs much

As a Leicester lad, my heart says Leicester all the way. My head on other hand is confused by the permutations. I started to believe but no I'm not sure again.....

Both teams HAVE to win, unless Spurs drop points, I'm not sure that'll happen though.

http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-premier-league/

Leicester have to beat probably 2/4 opponents to do it?

Swansea home
Man Utd away
Everton home
Chelsea away

Spurs have to win all?

West Brom home
Chelsea away
Soton home
Newc away

Well 5pts clear I reckon it will be wrapped up before the last day. Leicester for me, points on the board make the difference.

I hope Leicester but I think Spurs will catch them.

Chelsea will decide the winner - 2 home games against them both.

They'll probably lose both of them....if that's deciding the winner!

Head say Spurs will hunt them down. Heart wants Leicester to win it, just for the fairytale ending, sometimes sport does dish up fairytales, look at Boston Red Sox in 2004, Damon Hill etc etc

As someone who lives in Leicester but can't stand football and has to put up with LCFC fans in the office I would laugh my arse off if Spurs won.

A bit like the time Leeds won the old First Division Title (the year before it became the Premiership) Man U lost to West Ham who were on their way down but fighting for their lives, letting Leeds in and we eventually won it before the last game.

But I still think Leicester won't throw it away. Hopefully.

And with them playing the woeful Everton, that is surely another three points guaranteed? Just like Chelsea, they are desperate for the season to end.

Leicester will hang onto it, Spurs lost or drew crucial games, West Ham & Liverpool to name but two which gave Leicester the 8/10 point gap.

Still a strange feeling being a Spurs fan.

Leicester vs Swansea is a big match (I know they all are now) if Leicester can get a win then they will feel a lit better about themselves and the run in.

Leicester need to lose one and draw one of their last games, we need to win them all. I can't see Leicester dropping two games out of four unfortunately, gits!

I really hope Leicester do it but, honestly, Spurs would have been my next choice if you'd asked me at Christmas (or maybe the arse but they're a bit too "big4" for my liking, even if they never win it)

Leics this year, Spurs next how about that ?

If you'd told me at the beginning of the season that Spurs would be 1 place behind Leicester at the end of the season I'd have been a bit gutted.

As it is, I'm not that upset 🙂

😉

As a midlander (by birth at least) and a sporting romantic, I hope that the foxes hold on.

Squeaky bum time - thought Vardy was hard done by but he didn't help himself or his team sadly

As a West Ham fan I would rather suck the toes of a tramp than see Spurs win anything, I also have very fond memories of Filbert Street as a boy with my dad so I'm hoping that Leicester win.

If it goes down to last game, I reckon LC will lose the mind games battle - they were very fortunate against West Ham and the loss of Vardy may well cost them points.

The biggest IF, is Spurs winning all remaining fixtures. IF they manage that, they may well earn enough pts for the title, and would be deserved winners as a result.

Win/Win for the neutral

Everyone says about them not losing points, but the analysis of previous seasons says that both are likely to drop points between now and the end, so it could be anyone's.

As a Spurs fan with a copy of the 1961 FA Cup final programme, that has a note by my grandfather on it simply saying 'Double winners', then I want Spurs to win the title, rather a lot.

I support a lowly Div 1 team and we have been celebrating this week as we have avoided relegation again, and I would love to see Leicester win as that epitomises real football winning and not who's spent the most money!
I have been surprised and quite shocked speaking to Nitid, Liverpool & Everton fans who think Spurs should win as they are the 'bigger' club and it sends the wrong message out if Leicester win.

You'd be a brave/foolish man to put money on the top four places, even with only this many games left. Those third and fourth spots are still very much up for grabs too. Going to be a great run in to the end of the season. Theres an awful lot could hinge on results from the last game

Problem with this idea is that it isn't quite true, Leicester are still under investigation by the Football League for breaking the Financial Fair Play rules, which allowed them to get out of the Championship.

I'm an away fan at the KP on Sun so hoping their charge is derailed even if for just one game.
Hope they go on and do it but no probs with Spurs winning either. Will be equally happy seeing Arsenal finish 5th too - years of celebrating finishing 4th will bite them on the arse(nal) finally.

Ladbrokes? Apparently they'll be £3M worse off if Leics remain top.

William Hill have said if Leicester win, the bets made at 5000-1 will be the highest odds bets that they will have ever paid out - but don't cry for them bookies generally only lose when favourites come in.

Imagine how it feels being a Gooner then...Fate is not content to see us blow it big stylee, but watch our neighbours making a run for it. I'm not sure Le Prof is going to make it to next season, but Spurs winning would seal his fate!

Spurs will win all four.

Now me being a Spurs fans might lead you to believe I have a blinkered view and am bound to say that.... however I'd argue the opposite .... I've sat through enough heart ache (lasagna gate, Bayern losing on pens... A GERMAN TEAM LOSING ON PENS FFS... Pedro Mendez disallowed goal at old trafford etc) ... to know this time its different very different.

This TEAM would happily play anyone right now, right here.

Chelski, who all just want this season over and done with, and I've heard it rumoured don't like Spurs much

Historical of course, but next week? .... Which of their players will give a monkeys... Fabregas maybe? Ivanovic meh?

More worried about Soton away and them wanting to prove something to Poch

It's Leicester to lose .... but good luck to them.... Im happy enough.... we're going to come higher than Arsenal .,... you do not know how happy that makes me 😀

Oh and Bunnyhop's nephew (and other no doubt) will win a shed load of cash... fingers crossed for them ... thats a life changing amount of money and doesn't compare to my mere entertainment

Spurs fan here and for all that I would like Spurs to sneak it at the death that is what it would be. Leicester deserve the title and I hope they do win it. IMO Spurs won't win all their remaining games and either will Leicester.

As a Man City supporter, I was willing Leicester towards the finish line well before my lot were out of the running. Come on Foxes!

I would have been almost as happy with Spurs being in the same position, TBH. Arsenal really don't deserve to get anything until they realise that their league-winning sides were not just stylish, but had real steel in the midfield and defence.

I think the gap is too big for us to make up although it will probably mathematically go to the last game, just to prolong the agony.

As has been said we dropped too many points as the beginning of the season with draws at home. Losing at home to Newcastle and dropping a two goal lead against Stoke were the real killers.

Ro5ey Soton is at home

Spurs can't afford to slip up at all, Leicester should get there but it will be close. Their (usually superb and overlooked) defence looked tired against West Ham. Losing Vardy is a big blow but they have other strikers and an amazing team ethic.

As well as the fairy tale ending if Leicester win, Ranieri deserves it just for having the balls to stand there in several post match interviews this season and NOT blame the referee for a poor decision. For creating a - hopefully - title winning team that is so much greater than the sum of it's parts, without spending stupidly, for taking the rough with the smooth with humility and a slightly mischievous sense of humour, he should be Coach of the Year at SPOTY. By a country mile.

(Says the Ipswich fan resigned to yet another season of just missing out on the playoffs. Living in Derby)

Im sure the few hundred thousand they have to pay out on Leicester winning will be offset by the millions they've taken from punters betting on Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd winning this years title.

If Leicester win, the combined payout of the big 5 bookies will be just over ten million quid.

The only time bookies lose is when they have badly calculated the odds for the bet.
On-course horse racing bookies generally come out on top whoever wins, apart from when the favourite wins, and very few people have betted on the other horses.
That's why you get the 100-1 chance running quite regularly, they are trying to tempt people to bet on the longshot, as there is a lot of money going on the short priced runners, so thye want some money to offset it if the shorter price one wins.
I'd say football odds are far more sophisticated nowadys, as the bookies know at their head offcie immediately if someone has put £10 on Leicester etc. They will then quickly lower the odds on Leicester, as well as raising the pirce of Arsenal etc, to make sure they will not lose out whoever wins.

I'd go as far as to say the bookies will make more money this year if Leicester win, due to the sheer number of £10 bets on Man C, Man U, Arsenal etc to win the league.
It is in their interest to promote the amount that a few people will win if Leicester win, but if say, Man City had won, they wouldnt be promoting the 20000 people who have bet £5 on them winning - the amount they pay-out will be roughly similar, but spread over more people, and the bookies will still be making money.

Anyone think Leicester celebrations might be premature? ManU, Everton and Chelsea to play - none a foregone conclusion. Lose 1, draw 2 and Spurs can have it. Hope not but they still have work to do.

@Jimmy, if Leicester don't win the title this weekend, then the Leicester vs Chelsea game is only going one way given the hatred between Chelsea and Spurs.
Tottenham had a chance but they made a mistake with trying to win the Europa Cup (they should have sabotaged it all before the Dortmant game, against fiorentina if not earlier would have helped).
Poch's only mistake. He is now talking about PSG and as a Spurs fan this sounds all too familiar - another 5 years of "rebuilding" ahead of us!

Old man was a spurs fan so I followed them for a long time. Still like them to do well.
However, on this occasion I would like Leicester to do it. Hard effort and a team playing as a team not a collection of individuals... That's worth seeing them win out IMHO.

Very interesting article on Raneiri on the telegraph website. He is a highly skilled manager, and no doubt much of the credit is down to him.
Leicester aren't just going to win the League, they are going to win it with at least 5 points over the 2nd placed side IMO.
Funny how we all thought they were relegation candidates at the start of the season.
The biggest sporting upset of my life so far.

As a Chelsea supporter I can't see Leicester not winning it. If they go to Stamford Bridge on the last day needing to win you can pretty much guarantee they will have 40,000 people cheering them on. Given the affection Chelsea fans retain for Claudio and the fact that it would be Spurs winning the title otherwise, that will surely equal 3 points for Leicester.

Leicester hopefully as an Arsenal fan 🙂 Have to say Spurs are playing great football though and if they somehow pull it out of the bag then fair enough.
Just so pissed off with us, it 'should' have been this year with Chelsea and United being off song and City being inconsistent it was the year to step up to the plate.
If United pip us to 4th, then it's time to change the manager.

@granny_ring, in a way you at least have the consolation of knocking Spurs off the top of the table. They were top for 14 mins after Kane put them in front in the N London derby, if Arsenal hadn't equalised, I think Tottenham would have stayed top for the rest of the season.
We have a word at Tottenham, "Spursy", which describes how I feel about losing winning positions against Arsenal and now West Brom.

Why do Arsenal fans want to change their manager? Who do they want as manager and what makes them think that a new manager is going to be significantly more successful than Wenger?

You're near the top of the league every year, you're in Europe every year and you've won trophies recently. Any other club would see that as successful - why don't Arsenal?

As a Spurs fan I'd like to think thats possible for 2016/17 but whilst the team will mature nicely I can't see Man City, Man U and especially Chelsea being as far off the pace.

Good luck to Leicester tomorrow
