Last weekend I came off my bike, landing on top of a large fallen bough of a tree, using my thigh and lower ribs as cushioning. Now, no bruise has come up, but I have been suffering real discomfort in my thigh; including walking with a limp, thigh locking up when walking, pain, dead leg feeling.

It was getting better, but went up to London to a gig last night (Down \m/ \m/) and this morning it’s worse than it has been for several days?

Any idea what’s going on in there? I’m guessing it’s just deep bruising, but it’s annoying and I haven’t been riding my bike.

You're suffering from Doctor Deficiency 🙂 symptomatic of asking strangers on the internet to diagnose injuries blind rather than seeing you're GP. Keep it up though it makes for entertaining reading.

A guy I know chose to limp about for 18 months rather than have a GP diagnose his broken hip.

In my experience, GPs are rubbish at bones / joints, etc and panic and send you off to someone else. Go to your local walk in centre and get it looked at

To be honest, I don’t know why I posted that: Just thinking out loud, really. I blame the three hours sleep I had last night.

However, I will say that GPs are usually rubbish with this sort of thing, and I can pretty much guarantee they will say “come back in a week”; or in the case of my brother, who tore his calf muscle “just walk it off, it’ll be fine”.
