Tear it up, cook up some leeks and a quick mustardy sauce, bang it all together in a pie. Nom.

Chicken soup, all kinds of Mexican stuff (Fajitas etc), any number of sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes of all sorts, pizza topping, stir fry.

I'd use it in most things I'd use chicken normally in. It's just pre-cooked so doesn't need the full cook time.

Plus wings and legs just as, well, chicken wings and legs. BBQ time... though screwed now with the weather 😉

And of course curry, which is always the first option.

Jamie O's Chicken, mushroom and ham pie. Oooft!.

Missus always gets a big Free ranger from Aldi, roast chicken with tarragon sauce for dinner, then 2 pies from the leftovers for the freezer, and then a couple of litres of stock from the carcass and some root veg.

Really good value, and all good.

stir fry!
Cook some rice beforehand.
Fry the chicken, onions and garlic in a wok.
Add soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, ginger etc to taste.
Then chuck in the rice and a load of frozen peas.

Rice, chicken and pea stir fry...quick and tasty.

Don't forget to make stock with the carcass. Freeze it in 500 ml portions you should get about 2 litres.

Chicken pie. Use the bones and other scraps to make stock for the gravy. That's about the best use you can imagine.

So what to do with an entire Sunday dinner? Cooked for 6 , only 4 here (crossed lines, grand parents weren't coming after all) then one of our girls was very sick and didn't eat anything so have roasties, mash, veg, Yorkshire's, chicken, the lot.

Ideas please!

The eggs yolks have to be runny*, and combined with the chicken and lentils it's a very tasty protein packed feast. Use pre-cooked lentils and it cuts the prep time down too

Well if anyone cares (with our mounds of left-overs), we used some chicken on Monday night in a risotto, the potatoes (roast and mash), leeks and sweetcorn were made into oven-baked potato cakes last night and the Yorkshire's still in the fridge awaiting reimagination.

The remaining chicken has just been eaten by itself (cold - straight from the fridge) by me.

Soup or stock.

Top tip : freeze the stock in ice cube bags. Just don't get them mixed up should you choose to have a g&t when you're making a risotto.

I normally do a stock but after our daughter puking everywhere things were a bit strained so I just picked at stuff and bunged it in the fridge.

Chuck it all in a blender with enough stock to make it thick but liquid. Add lots of sweetcorn and paprika, to make it into a spicy roast dinner chowder.

Nom nom nom.

Once cooked roast spuds are crispy, twice cooked are really crispy!
