How many 750ml bottles would it take to get you properly leathered? Up front, four is my tank. Anymore may end in the tears.
Good luck with drinking four of those! You must really like Leffe...
Leffe's nice, but there are other Belgian beers which are better!
heretic
edit: Unless you mean Leffe Royale of course - then you're forgiven
Which Leffe? 😀
I reckon 4 is a good effort, 5 is probably a waste!
Which Leffe? they do a range of styles and strengths.
I've had four this very eve. Tis my tipple.
I just feel if I had many more they'd be trouble. Duvel is my fave but ooft it packs the punch. No?
I only know of the blonde and brown, much of a muchness. Twas blonde tonight.
You have another 6 to go then, enjoy 🙂
May I recommend you don't try 4x 750ml bottles of the '9'
Get to a French supermarket, triple, ruby, brune, blonde, radiuse, mmmm 🙂
Blondes still my favourite though.
There's a pub on Drury Lane called Lowlander. Might be chain? Anyhow, it's a whole bar of Belgium & German beers.
Oh yeh & 9 as Leffeboy says 🙂
FOUR!
I love my beers but 2 big bottles of Leffe Brunne and i'm in full social smoking shouting at familiars mode.
Ruins me completely. One of those beverages, different for some folk, but it sheets my face off.
For what it's worth, tonight we have Screwdrivers.
I'm enthused. I'm in Glasgow, its usually the Buckie for me. I'm keen to sample the other Leffe variants tho, where do I get these?
Back to the but`n ben tho, how many 750 blondes before the police were called?
Leffe Royale is what you want to hunt out though. It like a tastier, smoother, slightly stronger version of the blonde. Complete winner
There's a boozer in Appletreewick that you'd like too.
B.A.nana, you got this Royale?
4 of the big bottles sounds like a decent quota. Really doubt that there would be much difference for me in drinking a fifth or even a sixth though, in terms of getting leathered. It would be more a question of accommodating another 750 mL of liquid.
It's a nice side effect of drinking ale in general - the volume really moderates how bevvied you can get. You have to really put your back into it to get truly hammered on the ale IMconsiderableE.
Not a fan of Leffe, either. Don't know why, it's a rare ale indeed I'll turn my nose up at but just don't like Leffe blond.
Sounds like a challenge Merak.
How's this, how many Buckies, how many Leffes?
Ken some boys who can do 3/4 Buckie Bottles but boke at Leffe....
I can't get around the volume of liquid consumed by having 5+ 750's.
Boggled.
No willy wavin, reckon five is doable. Just not pretty. Agreed, an acquired taste. In know boys that will have nothing to do with the leffe but take a right bucket.
Just wondered what other folk drew the line at really.
Get yourself to any supermarket (obviously not the one right by the channel tunnel) on the continent and see how much choice there is and how cheap it is. Stock up on wine and beer and you're sorted!
Britain sucks...
no J, I don't have any Leffe, far too common for my specialist range. I only do the really special Belgian stuff. 😉
Prefer the Brune, never seen the others being sold around my way.
Could drink 4 but probably wouldn't, struggling with volume these days.
4 would be pushing it for me, I did 5 one night and knew about it when trying to tackle the stairs and getting undressed. I was bouncing around like a pinball
Lovely stuff though. And regarding duvel, it has a really strange effect of making my legs pissed before my head
Curious to hear about the other Belgian beers you talk about
Jools, Begian/French- Vedett, Chimey, Duvel, Westmalle, Orval, Chouffe and one beginning with M, but the name/spelling escapes me, they all do a range of choice. Leffe is good, I'm a fan, but it's an Interbrew product (Stella, Heineken etc), so every supermarket sells it, no point in us smaller specialist offy's selling it. I also do a big range of German Wheat beers, which are my personal favourites.
4 of the big bottles....**** me.
I'd need a priest and 3 doctors to make me feel human again if I drank that many.
4 of the little ones and Im an easy lay!!
Ladies beer.
I did four once in the space of an F1 race! I was absolutely ****ed, 3L of Leffe in less than 2 hours Is not wise. I was in full shouting at the telly mode, I think Button won.
L_Ache
There is something proper "beery" about Leffe that drives some people, like you and I, quite mad.
It's "Match Of The Day" ale.
Screaming at the tele then knockout, waking up with a cork in your eye.
I have never shouted at the telly for football but that day was a turning point for me. I am always shouting at the F1 now. I think I got a bit damaged that day.
Was it at the first turn?
I don't follow football, but MOTD's quite a disgusting spectacle of awful shittybollockness it's worth a shout.
I remember rally used to be on, what happened to that?
That's nearly the recommended weekly amount of units in one sitting.
Didn't realise alcoholism was still cool?
Paul. got any Straffe Hendricks quad in
Let me get this right - you are talking about the big bottles you can get in, say, Morrisons? Four of them??
I would be wobbly after four of the little ones!!
(Yeah, I know, cheap night out...)
Rachel
Nearly 1.
B.A.Nana.....Duvel, good call.....prefer that to Leffe....i live near the Hogs Back Brewery who stock loads of the strong continental beers, havent been over in a while but this thread has whetted my appetite!
Still the best beers i've had were in Prague, the Czechs invented the Pilsner brewing process and are rightly proud of their beer....stronger than the usual 4-5% cack in this country but delicious all the same....we were going out in the morning (drunk by lunchtime) back to the appartment, sleep for a few hours and back out in the evening for more of their awesome beer.
Leffe Noël this time of year surely?
Paul. got any Straffe Hendricks quad in
no chris, too dangerous
Can you get some in I am prepared to risk it
4! One is more than enough for me. I'm liking Westmalle and Delirium ATM There are seven or eight types of Leffe that I know of BTW.
