Any recommendations for a cafe type place to do a bit of work from between Dewsbury and Leeds? Not my normal patch, but I’ll finish in Dewsbury Friday lunchtime and need to get some emails etc done before meeting friends in Leeds centre Friday night.

Ideally independent, quiet, with an ev charger nearby. Moon on a stick in the wild north?

It seems I have committed several atrocities in a previous professional life!

As I say- not my usual patch!

cafe at Leeds urban bike park is ideal for your needs.
10 minutes drive to both Leeds and Dewsbury.

The pub at the train station is great. That's where my knowledge of Dewsbury ends, sorry.
Mirfield is only a couple of stops up the line and many a nice cafe and a few charging places in the supermarket carparks.

Arthur's cafe isn't far away and in a nice spot 👍

I'd be tempted to go straight to Leeds, this place isn't a bad spot to churn out a few emails over a coffee or beer, not sure where you can charge the EV but there'll be an app for that...

Train station pub is the only decent place in Dewsbury...the rest of it is a bit of a hole.

If I was finishing my work in Dewsbury nd had a meeting in Leeds later on, I'd be getting mysen to Leeds ASAP!

That said, theres an amazing material shop in Dewsbury, if anyone needs to make some curtains.....

Edit: Redbrick Mill in Batley has a nice cafe. But still, just go to Leeds.

Glad I asked! Never been to Dewsbury before so you lot have saved me a pretty grim afternoon I think!

Some excellent suggestions above to check out thanks all, might see if I can get a lap or two of the bike park in before dinner…

You've also got https://outofthewoods.me.uk/ right on the water at Granary Wharf with 4/5 charging points/car parks nearby.

Dewsbury is an utter shithole. I was born in Staincliffe and raised in Mirfield so have locals rights to talk shit about the neighbours 😀 definitely head straight to Leeds.
