Isn't he just some has-been (or never-really-was) that will do anything to get a bit of publicty, so i guess that just makes him unpleasant.

And one of the reasons he left acting is because of the terrible prejudice against posh people like him in the industry, the poor thing. I'm sure it was nothing to do with how obnoxious he is.

Disappointing in the extreme. He always has such natural 'banter' on They Think It's All Over that I didn't think he would turn into a shithead. Funny things, people.

Are you sure 'funnier' is the correct term to use ?, I'd say scary and deluded. Especially when you take a look at the accounts and tweets of those saying them.

Lee Hurst used to be great but could also have been a total tool also behind the scenes. Either way he suffered with some major problems with his health (back problem I think) and pretty much left the scene as it was debilitating and required meds.

Either way he’s now a horrid tw*t.

Erm, yes I would. Note the use of the word 'funnier' not 'funny'. It's a relative term. I haven't forensically analysed all the responders accounts or their tweet history. Life is far too short to go down those kind of rabbit holes.

The last time I heard his name it was on one of the Brexit threads. Seemed he'd outed himself as a raving brexiter and general all-round shit. I'm amazed he'd not been banned already.

I'd agree. I had a quick look a Lawrence Fox's account (I remember now why I don't 'do' Twitter). What a deluded obnoxious weapons grade bellend.... Anyway. It did get me thinking. How many people follow people like that just because they like getting annoyed/hand wringing or want to correct/dispell/argue/troll etc. (Most replies appear to be negative, but maybe they're just more vociferous). I genuinely wonder how many of his followers really buy what he saying. He's like a poundland Katie Hopkins and I'm sure he'll fade into obscurity too. Let's face it, other than playing Panto villain I can't see him getting another acting gig any time soon. He must be toxic now. Such a shame 😁

Do you think the replies are scary and deluded? The psople that are quite gently calling out Hurst for being an unfunny prick are 'scary'?

All I saw were people quite rightly pointing out that somoeone that adopts the title of comic in their username should at least be funny.

I thought Lee's description of a doctor surgery was quite apt TBH..And before people get all agitated and frothy, I'm talking about a pre pandemic doctors' surgery here.

Not sure it was funny, but it had a vein of truth in it.

Even then, whether the joke would be on the doctors or the cretinous government who under-funded them for decades is a moot point.
