It's time for some new snowboarding mitt (not sure when I'll get to use them, but you never know). What's the thought on leather palms. I've always had synthetic palms in the past, I assume leather will be are harding wearing but are they prone to getting wet and heavy?
I've always gone with leather and although they probably need a bit more care (leather creme etc) the leather parts have always outlasted the mitt as a whole. Normally it's the insulation or the thumb/ snot pad that call time first
Leather palms here, for skiing.
They last longer though do take a bit longer to dry. A bit of leather creme at the end of each week does no harm
Unless you're skiing whole seasons I doubt it matters, we normally do 2 weeks a year and gloves etc still look like new after several years as they've not really had much use. On mild days I still use some 10+ year old Gore GTX cycling gloves as proper ski gloves can be too warm.
