Ok, don't mind the Ling jokes but after that could do with a real answer please. 😀
Lad has an Alfa on lease. Not with Ling. 😉
Needs new brake pads...
A wear and tear item that he pays for, right?
I've never leased a car (I'm Mr second hand man) so don't have a clue!
Thanks for help guys (and the Ling jokes! )
Depends.... Whether he's got a maintained lease package or not, and if so whether it includes wear items such as tyres and brake pads.
Only way to know is to check paperwork
Cheers buddy,
Will get him to check.
Much appreciated. 🙂
While he's checking the contract, I'd suggest he reads the bit about residual value and given that he's got an Alfa, probably get him a piggy bank for Christmas.
Yeah. 🙁
You could get him a fashionable pair of shades to cover his tears.. 😉

He's quite safe to file that under "someone else's problem". Worst case he can walk from it.
^^
That's what I've did to him mate.

It's a lease, you hand it back at the end of the term. Some leasers allow you to buy it off them if you want.
So no, he wont need a piggy bank, unless hes done huge mileage over his allowance.
It depends on the contract. I took out a PCH lease recently, one of the optional extras was basic maintenance cover like brakes, pads, tyres etc. I think it was something like £10-£15 a month extra. If he doesn't know then I'd guess the answer is that it's not covered, but he'll have to read the lease agreement.

Depends whether the "lease" is Personal Contract Hire or PCP.
You've also got no residual 'deposit' for the next lease either.

PCP (and HP) is a financing/loan contract, leasing is a long term hire agreement.
Bloody hell,
I'll have to get all the paperwork off my lad and check all this out!
