Hi all, as per title, where in September can we relearn to surf and ride good trails? Good food a must, would be nice if warm too. I imagine somewhere facing the Atlantic....?
Basque country is the obvious choice. It'll probably be warm, but not guaranteed.
Ditto, Hendaye or Zarautz.
Got to be somewhere in Portugal. Autumn does bring big swells though so if you're out there for a week and the waves are monsters you may find more time riding and no surfing!
Galicia. Lots of surf schools and good riding particularly round La Coruña.
And the best seafood in the world.
Canaries?
<p style="text-align: left;">South Wales is the easy answer!</p>
It’s not surfing but i keep meaning to go here as this looks fun
Also close to lots of nice beaches and I reckon accommodation in Mojacar could be very reasonable 🙂
If you're just surfing in whitewater on a foamie it doesn't really matter where you go. There's lines of whitewater all around the world.
Canaries are warmest and a good shout. You'll need a 3/2 wetsuit anywhere in Europe I think
the wave @ bristol, best wave in the UK at the moment. worst summer I can remember for waves.
in fact they just built one somewhere in the alps..go there, plus some proper mountains for biking...

Yeah, I'd go here. Guaranteed waves & big mountains 🙂
"worst summer I can remember for waves"
It's getting depressing! As it's a couple of hundred miles to the beach for me I need to be sure of a couple of days of decent conditions and it's just not happening. Might have to bite the bullet and pay £60 for a session at Wave Bristol just to remember what being on a board feels like.
Anyway, enough moaning. I'd look at Portugal I think. I've been to Peniche a couple of times in September and the weather has always been decent plus there's plenty of surf schools.
