First that springs to mind is anything by The War on Drugs. Love those albums.

Portishead are a good call but I’m quite selective of songs when I’m in the mood for them

I listened to Husker Du's New Day Rising while cleaning the kitchen yesterday morning.

Probably not the vibe you were after but, bizarrely, I find it relaxing!

@burntembers I’m good with melancholy and that is quite some list, I know a majority of those but there are a few I feel I need to check out

@lister in a similar vein it was fugazi helping the roast cook last Sunday…

Really liking Gilmour's new one, 'Luck and Strange'. John Martyn always a good shout, also Khruangbin. Most of Little Feat's output, both pre and post Lowell George.

Simple things by zero 7 is always a good chill out album to listen to.

I'm ashamed to say it took me a few hearings to twig - just one day I went " hang on..."

Cripes! So many albums and artists that I know (knew) and love and didn’t even think of / had forgotten about, this thread has been a bit of a brain shake

I’ve started a “let’s reacquaint myself with some stuff I haven’t  heard in a while” playlist on the strength of this thread, currently sitting at 800+ songs ha ha

theres also a few names there that I don’t know and are now on the “must listen to that” list

The first Above & Beyond: Acoustic album is good for this.

Depending on your mood (i.e. maybe not if you're deep in a hole) The Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit I find oddly chilled.

Elder - The Gold & Silver Sessions - A new (well, two years ago) find and one that I can never regret. It's awesome

+1 for Trinity Sessions Cowboy Junkies. Very laid back Sunday. As was their earlier offering Whites Off Earth Now!!

I would possibly also go for some "cool" country like Buddy Miller or some of EmmyLou's output (Red Dirt Girl is a great album). Oh and some acoustic Richard Thompson.

Sault is a very good call... especially the big choral stuff... AIIR (or Air2, or whatever it's called).

cant remember the album names though.  From some time in the 90's.

First System7 album was just called System7... and was very, er, Orb adjacent. I still play it often.

Odd trivia.. the Zoe hit single "Sunshine On A Rainy Day" came out of the same sessions (IIRC).
