I think I've guessed the country, sorry to hear about another death even though I didn't know of her

Anyone starting a thread about changing their door ironmongery will they be able to use door knocker or doorknob without censorship?

Very sad and she achieved a great deal. Very experienced in big mountains so I guess, just unlucky and wrong place and time to catch the stonefall.

Sad, but my brief time spent with folk doing proper Himalayan mountaineering (pay per peak Everist businessmen needing bragging rights don't count) are relatively at peace with the possible consequences. And you have to admire her prior instructions for others not to risk themselves to recover her body.

Biathletes are crazy fit. Quite the life she has lived, however brief.

And as an aside.......when does a swear filter become racist (or at the least disrespectful ) for pointing fingers at the actual names of places or people? I had an issue at work when a child of Japanese heritage with the surname "Nip" was initially blocked and then banned from registering to use some software. That was a slightly challenging conversation trying to explain why her surname was problematic!

This one is a little oversensitive.

I got a week's ban when I was only asking for recommendations for jewellers in East Lincolnshire; who knew asking about wris****ches in S****horpe was so controversial

The front page of Private Eye announced that there was a "nasty nip in the air"  when Emperor Hirohito flew in for a state visit in 1971.

Oh how times have changed !

Although to be fair at that time there were still a lot of former British POWs still alive who had regularly been forced to bow by their captors as a mark of respect to Emperor Hirohito.

Whilst the brutality of Nazi Germany is never forgotten the brutality of Imperial Japan is almost never remembered.

By the way, if you quote it you get to see the unredacted text in the text box you type into. So that's a bit of a flaw.

Pissing about abusing the swear filter seems a bit at odds with the subject matter mind you 😔

RIP

Was talking to a friend about this just now, she remembers s****horpe being censored in the early noughties, to much amusement.
