You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Being as this is a forum where some members may actually ride mountain bikes (I know!) and this is a riding injury, I thought I'd ask the question: anyone here had the Laterjet procedure to reconstruct a shoulder? How was the recovery and what do you wish you'd known before going in?
My story is that I had a crash early Jan, eventually went to the doctors a month later, got referred to a specialist for an MRI and now have a diagnosis of a shoulder with three fractures and torn ligaments, complicated by inflammation (frozen shoulder) that means four weeks of physio to increase the range of motion before they can operate. Looking at being in a sling for four-six weeks after the operation and then a couple of months of physio. I'm going to struggle with doing nothing post-op so how have other people got buy in similar circumstances? It's a real pain and the killer is that it doesn't even feel that bad, as long as I don't move my left arm much!
