Hit and miss I know, but tonight it'll be hit.
She's on it and I'm rather excited.
Just watched the video and read an interview with her in the Guardian. I'm intrigued.
Ohh cutie, can she sing too?? (no volume at work see)
Cheers for this, never heard of her but this song is fantastic !
I rather like the song (heard a few times on the radio), but I suspect it'll get killed through overplay.
Ohh cutie, can she sing too??
Surprisingly, the singing is actually the best thing about her ❗
Wow thanks for this. God she is hot.
The Horrors too, a friend at work is going.
Quick bump for the evening 🙂
never heard of her before.liked the song 🙂
what's wrong with her mouth?
Been playing the Video Games song on XFM over the last week...lovely song. Out on 16th. Will be watching her on Jools tonight.
The Horrors I like to...Still Life is a great song
Can't all be as good looking as you, can we brakes?
sounds a bit nervous, been played alot on the radio, Jo Whiley played it on R2 earlier.
Phew. Time for bed.
Bah, he didn't do Sledgehammer 😉
<Grumpy> Am I the only one to think my TV license has been spunked on a huge Orchestra to have 6 minutes of Peter Gabriel sing a load of old tosh </Grumpy>
Lana I likey 😆
I thought Lana Del Ray was pretty awesome.
the mother-in-law wouldnt believe me that the saggy old bald man really was Peter Gabriel, despite him signing Gabriel tracks..
Full length repeat Jools Holland is on Friday night, so presumably Lana Del Rey will have done another, possibly this one that's being released aswell, just with piano and strings tho, of course.
Video Games single out Monday I think, I'll be downloading.
She was awful. Really pitchy and mediocre.
Little Roy was great
Cheer up love, you're on telly 🙂
Yes, she was struggling with nerves it appeared, on her debut TV live appearance, quivering voice in places, eyes flickering, shuffling on her feet. Not particularly my sort of music anyway TBH, but I'm interested to see where it all ends up for her, now DebZ has started this thread. She;s got the looks, the voice and writes her own material, but the same as thousands of others I expect, she might be old news in 6months or a superstar. She seems to have already divided opinion due to initially appearing to be a youtube sensation, but then appearing to have big record industry backing, or not, it's not quite clear how much of it is her and how much is managers, PR agents, A&M records. She claims to have made the youtube vids herself, but In fairness, I'm not surprised if she's already been snapped up.

Yes, actually, you are. What's the licence fee got to do with a musician appearing on a music show with a bunch of other musicians? It's Gabriel's orchestra, or weren't you paying attention? As for tosh, I suggest you get back to your Saturdays and Girls Aloud CD's. Leave the quality music for the grown-ups.
I couldn't disagree more, she was real, yes nervous to start with, but carried it through. I thought it was quite refreshing in a world of lip-syncing and autotune. She was awful. Really pitchy and mediocre.
Yep she can sing, I liked her too but god she could cheer up a bit a?
Stick her name into Google images there are pages and pages of her looking bloody miserable, lighten up love
... but you don't really get either of those things on Later... we did get the Civil Wars, and Little Roy and I think she looked a bit out of her league compared with them. Peter Gabriel is a bit marmite I guess.

Little Roy was great
🙂 Your loss.
Little Roy? was he on the same show? Don't even remember it.
Didn't think Peter Gabriel was all that good, in fact I FFw'd through him, but out of tune and pitch methinks, still good for an aging rocker but felt he needed the orchestra to cover up the wobble in his voice.
As for the Program.. It's utterly brill, this is exactly the sort of show that the BBC should be producing, that and all the stuff on BBC4
Lana Del Ray is amazingly good and impossibly cool.
I think I saw a different show.
Really pitchy and mediocre
A lot can depend on the quality of the feedback monitoring - which is why a lot of artists wear IEMS nowadays.
I don't think she had any on - would have interferred with those big hoop earings.
now [s]DebZ[/s] DezB has started this thread.
I prefer DebZ, sweet cheeks! 😉
Peter Gabriel has more than enough talent to create some great new music. I'm a big Gabriel fan and it gets on my wick that his last two albums have been covers albums (other other peoples song and now covers of his own stuff!).
Pull 'ya finger out Peter and give us something new!!!
My evening is sorted, Comic Strip presents, Jools Holland. However, I'm now convinced there won't be a 2nd performance from Lana Del Rey on the hour long Jools tonight, Steve Tilston is on the hour long version and it seems that Blue Jeans works best with a guitar and there was no guitarist.
