We’ve recently found ourselves dogless. ☹️

So with kids grown up and no longer at home  we’re thinking of a holiday abroad when it’s not longer quite peak prices.
Any recommendations please.
Warmish. Not necessarily beach. Possibly 2 centre. Nice hilly/mountainous scenery. Option to do a cheeky mtb ride or 2 a bonus.
What’s Croatia/ Italy like at that time of year?

TIA

We went to Sorrento at that time of the year. Weather was spot on. Family holiday so can't comment on the mountain biking.  Interesting place with Vesuvius and Pomeii near by.

How about the northern end of Lake Garda? Plenty of mountain biking or just pootle around the lake by ferry.  Maybe somewhere in the Dolomites if you fancy a second centre?  Lake Garda in September has always been good.

I've had two excellent hiking holidays with my mates, both beginning of October, one in Austria and one in Corsica.

Northern Spain.
Bilbao, San Sebastian,Oviedo ,take your pick.
Loads to do and see along that coast.
The trains and buses are also excellent,so it's easy to go exploring from wherever you base yourself.

Gran Canaria.  Split your time between the capital Las Palmas up north and either a resort down south or somewhere in the mountains.  The mountains really are stunning, plenty of options for biking.

We're thinking Porto, maybe Jordan, possibly Morocco.

But we'll probably end up in Murree in ****stan. We have long standing invite and I like the hills up there.
