Right, we still don't know what "it" is (boy/girl).

We're settled on names for a girl, but have had last minute indecision if it's a boy.

Help us..!

PS surname is Ferguson.

Mrs North has announced that these are not serious enough suggestions and "it's not helping".

Keep it up - where's the muck etc.

bakes - what took you so long....?

chewkw - about 70% of those are on the shortlist. We'll just have to MTFU and choose one.

scardey - I actually rather like Horace, but not because of our friend....

And sod's law, it'll be a girl.

jesus christ, don't ask this lot! ask people that you care about, and that care about you!

Daddy, why did you name me Brant?

Well son, back in the day, before I was a fat IT ****, i used to ride bikes, sometimes, but mostly I used to go on an obscure internet forum, for bikes. I was too inept to make up my own mind, etc. Gonna give the kid a complex.

My wife wanted a scottish boy's name, the only one I was prepared to accept was Rory, we had a girl so the Teddy bear is called Rory instead.

Choose one but they are all names of Kings (Picts).

The thread before ... they are names of "English" Kings (with two or three not actually Kings but provided the gene for the next King)

🙂

Oh, I'm not a Scotch BTW. Grandfather was an Italian immigrant as a young man and lived in Edinburgh and took on a new surname.

Closest to Celt-ism is Welsh. And Ivor is not on the list.

Anyway, all good fun - you've helped us confirm our first choice was just fine...

Night all..!

I've not read all the replies but we had a little boy this time last week, the shortlist was Jack, James, George, Harry, Charlie, once he arrived we called him James for a few minutes and then decided he actually looked like a Daniel which was never even discussed previously.

Sorted, they name themselves.....

Don't think 'he'll get bullied at school. You'll get bullied regardless if you are small, unpopular, fat etc. After being with someone a while a name doesnt sound unordinary anymore- looking soft, short, big, fat etc -DOES stick out.

I always liked Daniel for a boy, but my wife had taught too many little shits called Daniel, so she vetoed that.

Our shortlist included Sam and Noah. We had two girls, so you're welcome to them.

If you use computers a lot, it'll probably be a girl - office theory.

Felix.

Toughen the lad up FFS. If hes a typical Elliot then yes. If hes someone who is popular and well-developed emotionally then no.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW THE PARENTS BRING UP THEIR CHILD.

Can you remember a popular kid who was bullied? No, it was the wierd quiet ones who were picked on. Wierd and quiet probably due to their home situation.

Now that is good.

How about, right seeing as how Ferguson is a version of a Scandinavian name, Thorgerson, calling the little bugger Storm, after the bloke what done loads of album covers?

Paul or Pauline, t'is a great name

I actually love use of the word "Wise" as a name, had a cat called Wise, just worked really well. Whether or not it would work as a 'proper' name I dunno.

You should not ask here, you should be asking a fine, traditional gentleman like the one featured in this article.

His kids are called:

James, 18, Chelsea Ann Stamford Bridge, 16 - named after Mr Houghton's favourite football team and their home ground - Joanne, 14, Jack, ten, and Summer, two.

and no, I don't read the Daily Mail!!
