Hi all,
Organising a get-together next May 2025, and looking for a venue:
Sleeps 30-35, in mainly twin/double rooms (ie not hostel dorms)
Ideally in one or two properties close together, with space in one for everyone to eat and hang out (e.g. don't want to hire out 5+ smaller airbnbs in the same area). Not looking for a camp site/wigwams/yurts.
Nice property - doesn't need to be a castle but something reasonably grand would be great.
Nice location - ideally Highlands, but Borders could work too - looking for fairly rural, nice scenery and walks etc nearby
Within 2.5 hours drive of Glasgow or Edinburgh, ideally less
Less than £5k, for 2 or 3 nights
Have done lots of googling and looking on airbnb, found a couple contenders, but wondering if anyone on here knows of any hidden gems/can recommend anywhere?
Thanks!
Def Scotland?
We've just been to a great place in Keswick... Only took 20 but was fab and I'm sure you could get another to go with it.
{The agents do have another a similar size not too far away I believe)
30 would be bloody.massive!

Stayed at both of these with wife's family. Might not be quite big enough for your needs but worth contacting them.
Book a whole hotel?
Multiple Forest Holiday lodges?
Not sure of the budget but Mar Lodge can probably fulfill your other requirements.
Try Crabtree & Crabtree.
Alvie, Gargunnock, etc…
Edinburgh castle or Glenochill with great views but it might not have many vacancies
Landmark Trust - how big a castle do you want ?

Look at booking a YHA, they'll rent out the whole building for a weekend/ long weekend especially in the off season, we do it a couple of times a year for about forty of us including kids, usually do it for three or four days, not expensive, we're based in Wales but should be the same up there hopefully.
@sharkbait - do you have the details on the place you stayed in Keswick?
Thanks!
Comrie Croft?
Crieff Hydro? They have a hotel but there is several larger self catering houses there too.
