Its new laptop time and I've been looking at Laptop Direct but I stumbles across the Gadget Centre - https://www.gcentre.co.uk/
They apparently recycle old laptops and you select the spec you require and they make it up for you from their collection of recycled stock and components. Feedback on the quality of product provided is quite good, they do appear to be lacking in the customer service side of things if you try and contact them though. For the highest spec they can do - I7, 16gb ram, 1TB ssd, 14 - 15.6 screen with a 1 year warranty its sub £400, my ideal kind of budget. Just wonder if anyone has any experience of using them good or bad? Cheers.
No experience of them, but i7 isn’t very descriptive for a cpu; an early low power i7 will struggle these days. The site doesn’t seem to be more specific than that
As above, you don't really know what you are buying.
Without knowing what you want to use it for, something like this would be a better option https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/refurbished-hp-17-cn0504sa-core-i5-1135g7-8gb-512gb-ssd-17.3-inch-windows-1-a2-62a18ea/version.asp
Or for light use, an 11th gen i3 or AMD equivelent might also do the job fine.
Thanks for your responses Minus and Mattyfez. I was just looking for a general use laptop and not being clued up on it had my head turned. Stick with somewhere I know exactly what I'm getting me thinks.
Always worth a scan of dell and HP's outlet.
Especially if you know someone who can get a student discount.
