[Closed] Laptop no longer sleeps when I close the lid

Sleep works if I press Fn+F4, and the settings in power options are as they should be - set to sleep if the lid closes.

Possibly related, the keyboard light doesn't work. I can press Fn+Page Up, the on screen graphic appears telling me it's on, but nothing.

Strange, isn't it?

Could be a fractured cable internally.
Try changing the settings, rebooting and changing again.

Could just be a bad driver update/install. Ask your IT guys if the system image they look after works and then get that installed over your cobbled-together version.

Could be the little rubber dabber that pushs on the 'board is split or stuck, or most likely, full of biscuit crumbs.

Hot milk with a shot of scotch in, works every time! 😀

sensor, cable or policy changed. I think a recent windows update reset some of my power saving settings or flipped me off the one I was on. Or the cat danced on the keybord again....
