I have an old Lenovo laptop. The build quality is terrible. There's barely a week goes by where something doesn't break on it. You can actually bend the thing. But it does what I need it to do with no complaints so I'm keeping it until it doesn't. Anyway, the battery it came with lasted five years. I bought a replacement off eBay that has lasted less than six months. So, obviously the non-originals are inferior, but why? Got me thinking, what's to stop me opening up the plastic battery casing and putting in the batteries myself. Maybe I could even upgrade them?
So two questions, 1, has anyone beefed up/replaced the actual batteries within the battery casing? Any links for instructions etc? I'm ok with a soldering iron. 2, the image on the listing for the ebay battery I bought claims a three year warranty. I emailed them about this and they just ignored me as I bought it six months ago there's nothing I can do. Any way to hold them to that claim?
I bought a battery for an aging Dell from them and its been absolutely fine
Thanks,
I've sent them a message as my laptop isn't listed.

There's a couple of complaints right there.
