Anyone looked into this field?
As per normal I've been asked to recommend one, as I occasionally work in IT... I'm flicking though the reviews (or previews in most cases, it seems) but as I have no 'use' for something like this, am finding it hard to see make any kind of judgement & am tempted just to list those available.
TBH I'm struggling to find a reason why not suggesting a nice i5 laptop & an ipad
dual boot with android and it would be nearly perfect 🙂

yes, that was on this review but £1200 for the decent spec one is a lot of money, but what makes it better (stand out) than any of the others available?.. the family already have an ipad, so android may not be seen as an advantage 😳
"the family already have an ipad, so android [s]may not be[/s] will demonstrably be seen as an advantage"
Id go back to the question and see why they want a laptop. Is it for certain applications? Would it need to be windows or would a chromebook work?
Im with you, a google sync'd tablet (Drive, pics, music, calendar, mail etc etc) and a tidy i3 or i5 for when it's needed.
it for a m8's daughter for home/school use, and they already have an ipad which was supposed to be his but he ended up having to buy a mac book air, as he couldn't get it off wife/daughter... with that in mind I doubt they'd be convinced that a android device is better (ppl just like to stay with what they know - for example I tried an android phone after my iphone, it did what I needed and more but I dumped it quick and got another iphone, as it was far too annoying).
TBH I think that she'll find windows 8 annoying too, on the 'tablet', but I might be completely off the mark on both points...
Ipad mini & i5 laptop maybe...
