My father recently passed away and we are sorting his affairs. He has a Defender 90 pickup (1990) 162k miles. It has lived a proper agricultural life and its condition and quaint odour reflect this , although it is in decent mechanical order. I know these have increased in value to a degree but have no idea of how to get selling price. Most guides don't seem to go back this far. Any ideas of where to get a valuation and how best to sell. Several neighbours have already expressed an interest. Based in Northern Ireland, if that's a factor. Any advice appreciated

eBay sales ?

Could be anywhere between 4-10 grand depending on how much of the agricultural life could be rectified with a good valet.

Seeing as Revolution Bike Park just bought a 'new' one for their uplift for £10k and it was absolutely shagged before they got it I'd say £10k and up! Sub £6k doesn't seem to even buy a project currently.

I'd be ringing around specialists and seeing if they want it, see what the offers are and go from there.

Sorry for your loss. Might be worth looking on landrovertrackworld type fora at their classified sections?
Edit, such as these - https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/land-rover-90.375010/
Another edit, also might be worth checking if get more on mainland for it could make worth advertising over here? Know my brother in law over home often buys from England or sells other way for specific vehicles.doesnt cost much for enthusiast to trailer it across.

If you mean on telly, they're pulling apart a swb 1973 defender, yes.

No their not.

That'll be a land rover series 3. No defender about it. It's not the same chassis. Suspension , axles, engine, Wheel base - much of any of it if anything that would be found on a defender stock

Series 3 unanimous voted the worst of both worlds between leafer and coil.

Well it looks nice which is what appears to motivate the people buying them for daft money.

Ring B&S motors in Arklow, they buy old jobs and refurb them.

eBay, donedeal, gumtree and usedcarsni should let you see what others are looking for a similar LR.
If you are close to Saintfield call in to BLRC to see if they know of anyone who may want it.

1990 90 would be a 200tdi engine, so miles not an issue. Main issue is chassis condition. Less modified ones are usually more valuable than tricked ones. 10-15 is reasonable dependent upon chassis. Loads of forums out there - Defender2.net covers a 90 like this 👍
