Burning buildings, desolation, screaming.
It's hard to tell, tbh... 🙂

I'd have Lancaster over Rochdale any time. Even though its in that god forsaken county.

After a lovely afternoon potter with Mrs crikey, I'd just sat down outside the pub when the Lancaster flew over, accompanied by a Spitfire doing a barrel roll!

Which was nice...

About 7 miles south east of Rochdale.

Southport Airshow, it'll have been going to or coming from there.
I think it had a couple of official fly-pasts scheduled at various points on its route.

Yeah, they've just been overhead mine on their way over there. Sadly didn't see them but the roar of the engines was very distinctive.

Felt as though it was about level with the top of Curbar Edge, with attendant Spitfire having fun trying to slow down enough to escort it... Heard the noise and got to the edge just in time to see it straight in front of me.

We saw PA474 going over at relatively low level while we were in the queue at Smithy Bridge level crossing last year or the year before - think it was going home from the Southport airshow.

We were riding at Ladybower today. Was a lovely unexpected treat to see them fly past.
