Any flooring experts about?
I have this layout in my kitchen and can't decide whether to start laying the laminate (click together) boards from side 'A' or side 'B'?
All help appreciated.

I would start from the single door to the left and work down the room...
Edit: IANAFE however I have laid much laminate DIY so happy to be utterly wrong
IANAC
But
I’d start from one of the doors near A. Which door would depend personal preference over the shape of the flooring, direction and which was the normal path through the room
Defo wouldn’t start at B as your edges will be under the cupboards so the edge becomes less important
I am not a flooring installer, but I've seen it done and "helped". They normally start in the middle. and work either way.
When they did my tongue and groove they used a spare bit and screwed that down, then went off in oen direction, and the other guy went in the other direction. It looks right.
Thanks. I would normally start from A but the single standalone cupboard is a pain in the backside.
depends on the rooms accessed from the 3pm and 9pm doors as to if I'd start on the shorter walls.
But, if do you want it running in the orientation you suggest, then A, unquestionably. Measure off wall a to make sure a full board at the doorway threshold gives you a decent last board under the kickplates (i.e. you dont want a joint then a sliver of board before it hits the kitchen cabinets. If it does, adjust the width of your first board run to suit.
Pull your skirting boards and pull your kickplates. Don't half arse it with 1/4 round.

Yeah, skirting is off.
Which way do you want the planks to run?
If horizontally on the picture then I'd run it from wall A in the left hand corner. Especially if you can run it under the cupboard. In my mind you always want to start along the longest un-interrupted wall.
If vertically then I'd run it from the left wall but since the first few runs would be quite short then I'd make extra effort to make sure I well stagger the joints which might mean a bit of wastage.
Think you want the planks running in the direction of the length of the room so I'd assume horizontally in your picture.
Not an expert but laid more laminate flooring than most people have had hot dinners and always seemed to do a half decent job of it.
Work away from wall A ,working from left side door up to the cupboard. When you get out level with front of cupboard offer boards up loosely for the row in front of cupboard in order to arrange your boards to the right of cupboard correctly.
Now lay boards to right of cupboard properly and fit the loosely laid boards properly which will bridge the two sections.
Hope that makes sense !
Last flooring job I did was a refurbishment on the Royal Crescent in Bath.
In typical STW style, I wouldn't use laminate, I'd use decent quality vinyl flooring that looks like laminate. Cheaper, less noisy, warmer, what's not to like.
Laminate the better choice for me contrary to the above. Got high quality vinyl wood like tiles in the hall in our last house. Scratched really badly with kids, pushchairs etc. after 5 years. Laminate in the kitchen of that house looked great after 8.
As for the above I'd start in a long line just above the single cupboard. Measure so there will be about 2/3 to 3/4 of a board width at wall A and not too tiny and fiddly width under cupboards B. Walls are never straight so need to trim all edges. Get a straight line you are happy with down the middle first. Also eliminates the stuff moving as you do the wall bits due to the weight of the large centre are already done. It also means than when it creeps into the 3rd week of doing a large and complicated room (bungalow hall, toilet and utility with 9 doorways) that you can use the space as most of the area is done and it is only edges and 4 or 5 doorways still to fit. Or in your case you can use the kitchen to make breakfast before day 2:-)
Everyone will have different opinions but don't rush it and it'll look great.
