Next weekend I'm taking up the laminate floor in our living room (6m x 3.8m) before the New carpet arrives. Are there any uses for pieces of old laminate floor?

I wish that was true, my parents had it in 1996 when it was popular. The day they had it fitted the fitters pulled up the old carpet and discovered this beautiful, but in need of some TLC hardwood floor... they paused, looked at the each other, looked at my parents - there was a silence and then they started sliding and gluing this crap together over the top of it.
It's still there now, looking as 'good' as it did 20 years ago, creaks and groans as you walk over it, but it refuses to die.
As soon as we moved into the house in February we decided to remove the laminate. Now the time has come after all the plastering and painting has been completed. Some friends think we're mad but they haven't tried to clean it and it made the room feel really cold until the last 2 months.
Give a bit of it to me for flooring my van?
We made an outdoor skittle alley with ours, used some new railway sleepers as the sides, was fun for a few weeks until the kids got bored with it.
Where are you Captain? The current plan is to take it to the tip.
You could pose with it for next year's Quick Step team calendar?
Line a cupboard with it, stick a kettle in there on a roaring boil.

My brother built a couple of raised beds in his garden with his - did a good job of it too (don't have any pictures unfortunately)

Hmmm....hadn't thought of that. Want something tough and easy to sweep when I've got the back full of garden waste (which even in bags tends to escape and drop mud etc..).
I've got the garage and shed both laminated with the old laminate.

Makes a huge difference, doesn't feel cold .. and its actually really easy to lay.
Well worth the difference from bog standard underlay.. which I have in my office (which i did 1st) and plan to pull up and replace with this stuff at some point
