Staying in Keswick for a couple of days and looking for route recommendations. Group of 5 of us and we are all used to Peaks, Wales etc riding and have also done Walna Scar, Grizedale off piste, borrowdale bash before.
Trying to avoid the normal MBR etc routes as they sometimes miss some good stuff out.
Was thinking back of Skiddaw for one day but seems to be so many options.
Don’t mind travelling around a bit so don’t have to start at Keswick
Cheers

Back of Skiddaw is OK, but apart from one short section, more about the views and steady pedalling than technical interest.

Depends on your appetite for tech, riding FPs and hike-a-bike. The obvious two from Keswick in good weather are Grisedake Pike/Whiteless/Rigg Beck, and Skiddaw/Ullock.

A bigger day out would be the Borrowdale Bash extension up via Langstrath/Angle Tarn, Sty Head and Seathwaite. Borrowdale Bash itself can be made more interesting by adding Walla Crag and the descent towards Little Town over the Catbells/Maiden Moor col.

Thanks Martinhutch for the suggestions will have a look, we are all ok with some hike a bike, like technical stuff and don’t mind some fp’s, will be mid week so hopefully not as busy as the weekends.

Adding Langstrath/Angle Tarn/Sprinkling Tarn/Styhead Tarn doesn't add a huge amount of miles to the BB but it does add a lot of time (did for me anyway). It can be a right old slog up to Esk Hause as it can get very boggy and a bit vague getting from the top of Stake Pass to Angle Tarn. Once you get to Esk Hause it's dropper down and smiles all the way down to Seathwaite, though there's a few sections before and after Sprinkling Tarn you could easily do yourself a mischief 😉

If you do whiteless/rigg beck (which is awesome) then there's a good mining track option up the valley from braithwaite, to coledale haus. Also when you come down off whiteless, go behind rannerdale Knott's rather than direct into Buttermere.

And yes skiddaw/ ullock is awesome. Quite a short ride really though. For something a bit more interesting start at Dodd wood, behind skiddaw via whitewater dash, skiddaw house and then up the main drag. Back down ullock. Jobs a goodun
