Hi, i'm looking for somewhere nice to stay for 2 adults & 1 7 yr old in august. Not really fussed where, just a nice proper hotel. We had looked at the Daffodil, but it seems that it's just adults only. Don't really want to spend more than £350 per night

We've not actually stayed there, but we popped in for lunch on a recent walk. Its just been done out, and they must have spent a fortune on it. Its beautiful. Its right on Derwen****er, with stunning views over to Cat Bells, and you're five minutes out of Keswick. We're definitely going to be stopping there at some point soon.

oh... the food is top notch!

Depending on dates you might get a reasonable rate at armathwaite hall which is very nice.

Do you want country hotel or town ?

http://www.amblesidesalutationhotel.com/ - Love this place. right in the centre of Ambleside and a good spa.

https://www.borrowdale-gates.com/ - Brilliant and under rated hotel.

The Lodore that binners mentioned it superb. the lake view rooms are brilliant. Not sure if the Spa Redevelopment has finished though.
