Hi
whats the going hourly rate for car servicing (in London)
i have a ford which needs a relatively straightforward job (2 hours labour or so) done but I have no idea what is a fair price , and garages are reluctant to talk cash over the phone.

between £80 and £160 per hour

Go to a smaller specialist or general garage rather than a Ford main dealer, should be a bit cheaper, mine costs £75 per hour + vat.

The Alfa specialists I go to charge between £50 and £60 an hour, plus VAT (and they're all Alfa-trained, with all the diagnostic kit, etc). I'd imagine a more general place would charge a bit less.
