Hi all.

I'm in Kyleakin for a few days with access to a decent hardtail. Can anyone point me at a trail or two?

I'd have a few hours to play in so longer routes welcome.

TIA.

ROB

Do you have access to a car? Not much in the immediate vicinity. Drive to Sligachan and do Glen Sligachan. There's also a loop around the coast near Torrin to Boreraig. On the mainland Torridon's not far away but might be interesting on a hardtail - in fact it is very interesting on a hardtail!

Plenty of folk ride and enjoy the Torridon trails on hardtails.

I was in Torridon 4 weeks ago, didn't have time to shred.

I know Kyle quite well now, my wife grew up here. I was hoping for some local knowledge on the trails around Balmacara or similar. There is an old STW thread about them but the info is a bit vague.

I didn't go off road in the end. The borrowed bikes brakes were dicey AF. Took a trip from Kyleakin to Kylerhea then the ferry to Glen Elg, climbed out of Glen Elg then bombed down to sheil Bridge, along the coast back to Kyle and the over the bridge to Skye and Kyleakin.
