I was never sure about Ian Krankie. Was he straight, gay or a Charlie Chester?

Whatever he is, he's rite hard if he can take down Paul Daniels.

on one occasion Ian flattened magician Paul Daniels with a single punch in a bar.

Without following the "link" - is this a story about the odd "comedy" duo from yesteryear, the Krankies.. sexlife?
Now, why oh why would I read that?

That's possibly the most disturbing thing I've ever read 😯

Ian said: "I was a bit punchy I suppose, when I was in my thirties. Yes (I punched Paul Daniels), but that's not really a bad thing is it?

"I think he must have said something to contradict something I was saying. I'd likely had a drink and was talking rubbish and I just went bang – he went off the chair and the whole bar all applauded and said 'it's time somebody did that'.

Like Binners I am deciding which one I would rather do first in a swingers club 😯

S'not right, is it, Dezzie? 😯

I never liked those two. Always felt there was something dodgy about them, same as I did with Jonathan King and Gary Glitter...

Fill; you're too young to remember the Krankies, probbly. Gentlemen of Sir Dezinald's vintage aren't though, and that pic serves to show just how disturbing the whole thing is. Dez understands; it's not objectification or sexist or owt, it's just wrong.

Have they got a Christmas dvd coming out?

They're in panto apparently, a quick Amazon search reveals that the old VHS tapes are somewhat collectable if the price is anything to go by

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Krankies-Video-VHS-Janette-Krankie/dp/B002R11SZ6/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1324305018&sr=1-1

Hmmmm. That Amazon reference includes the phrase "Janette-Krankie/dp"

I think even Frankie Boyle would find it difficult to get aroused by that one.

Speaking of DP, I also heard that Bob Carolgees dog got his nickname after they both enjoyed an unsavoury roast at Chez Krankie.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if that bloody Edmonds had been in there an' all!

What? Surely I'm not alone in getting the horn in response to the appearance of a gravely voiced sccotish female midget dresses as a school boy?

That's wrong on so many levels. I mean, Scottish FFS? 😉

Anyone know where I can buy a Dennis The Menace keyring before Papa's next "do"?

Roger the cabin boy?

Seaman Staines?

Got an eye for the wronguns eh

It's weird, cos both King and Glitter just seemed dodgy, when I was a kid. King especially so, and that was years before it was discovered he was a nonce. Just something in his manner, that I instinctively felt wasn't 'right'. Uuuggh. Really creepy and slimy.

As for Glitter, well, he just seemed wrong. Kids can pick up on things; it's like they're more naturally attuned to danger somehow, and we lose that ability as we get older, and replace it with intuition based on experience rather than instinct. Maybe. something like that.

That definitely wasn't a character in Pugwash either.

I was told a Krankie story a couple of years ago which was utterly disgusting and hilarious in equal amounts. I have told it to numerous people over the last couple of years and I had so many texts today from peeps who remembered it when this came out, and took it as confirmation the story was true. 🙂

This year for our Christmas bonus, my employer has given me tickets to the pantomime Robinson Crusoe starring John Barrowman and the Krankies. The show is this Thursday......I was kinda looking forward to it till I read the article.

Other colleagues attended the show last night and said they actually made references to being in the papers whilst on stage.
