Have a 21 plate Kodiaq and the top glovebox has suddenly started to randomly pop open. I suspect it’s the hook latch is t retracting properly. Dont suppose any other owners could take a picture of the latch and how it should look when the button is pressed and not pressed? Or have any ideas of why it might have started happening.

Is there something stuck in it? I had a glovebox problem on a different car and couldn't work out what was going on...turns out a pen had hidden itself in the rim and wasn't allowing it to close properly. It was well hidden tucked away in a seam.

@swdan thanks. Can I ask one more favour. When the button isn’t pressed are you able to move the hook with your finger into the recess above it? Just wondering if the hook should move up when the glove box closes.

Am at work now so will have to look later, however from memory it's in the recess when not pressed and "drops down" when you press it

Thanks. Mine does drop down when the button is pressed. But just wondering if it should retract fully into the recess when not pressed. If I try to push it into the recess with my finger it won’t move up.
