The General Tarleton is lovely. Stayed there a couple of times.

Market Tavern is a bit more of a proper pub, So Bar is pretty decent too, with good beers (a bit more of an Ikea pub though)

Blind Jacks in the market square then Zolsha for an Injun Is what we do.

5 mins in the car is still too far if your'e actually IN Knaresborough to stay, after a drink. We've tried Zolsha & The Spice Merchant, prefer Zolsha. Blind Jacks is a great drinking place especially for real ales & unusual stuff. Quite small though.

Agreed - if you're in Knaresborough for a night out Ferrensby is just not an option on foot!

Pub wise - second Blind Jacks - great pub, albeit small - but cracking real ale. The Mitre down by the train station is good and The Cross Keys just off the market place is also very good. Market Tavern is not great.

Curry - as mentioned, my faves are Spice Merchant and Zolsha - the latter just has the edge IMO.
