So a customer has bought new doors for their kitchen units, large recessed holes already pre drilled out for hinge knuckle on the doors both edges, but the spacings on the door are about 1/2 inch above the spacings of the original hinge screw holes on the sides of the cabinet, and if i drill new holes for the gripper screws, they will probably run into the existing gripper screw holes.
Any ideas.
fill the old holes with suitable size dowel or 2 pack filler - the drill new holes ?
All drillings on cabinets are at 32mm centres, so at half an inch off you should be fine. There's also normally about 4-5mm adjustment space on the hinge plates that screw to the carcass.
If all else fails, get new hinges with more adjustment in the hinge plates. They're all standard sizes, kitchen cabinets are normally full overlay.
