Just been reading about the ‘Freedom Convoy’ or whatever it’s called at the moment, that’s on its way to Washington. Seems that now Covid is declining, and mask-wearing is no longer a requirement, they’re having to come up with other things to vent about, and the latest that the QNuts have come up with involves Ukraine!

The individual concerned has been a go to for conspiracy theories ever since the referendum and has had the most batshit takes on Brexit, Covid, Ukraine (which is apparently a hoax) and now has plenty to say about the recent torrential rain in Australia. Apparently, the rain is "unnatural" and the weather phenomenon is "definitely man made", however the loony in question doesn't accept that climate change is real, so she's banging on about something called HAARP.
I should've unfriended years ago, but I have a morbid fascination at reading her mental gymnastics.
the people behind the freedom convoy are qanon believing, climate change denying, kick everyone not born in canada out of canada, overthrow democracy, gun—toting trump fans.
as i understand, the movement predates the pandemic, but they used the mandates to grow support, while not being completely honest about their true intentions. it is not a peaceful group with a rogue element. it is the exact opposite of that.
there have also been blockades of border crossings. at one it them the police found a rather terrifying cash of guns.
it is worth nothing that the covid mandates are more strict in canada than the uk with vaccine passports and the unvaccinated loosing their jobs.
