Don't know why but thinking of heading up kinder on Thursday with the tribe, full English somewhere then head for the walj. All fit and used to good walks. After a route i can download or similar, could we take in kinder downfall? Have full o/s mapping on my phone if that helps.
TIA

From Edale:

Head north on the road from the car park, turn right after the tarmac road ends up to Ringing Roger, up onto the edge and turn left / west to follow it all the way along past the Wool Packs towards Kinder low, then right / north to the Downfall, turn round and retrace your steps and follow the Pennine Way down Jacob's Ladder and over back to Edale.

If you fancy a scramble then keep on up Grindsbrook Clough at the start instead of heading off up Ringing Roger, then bear right / north before you get to the top at around GR106873.

Don't be tempted to take the footpath across the plateau from the downfall to the top of Crowden Clough - it looks like a nice way to loop back but it's really not there and is arduous bog-hopping. People walk around the edge of the plateau where the path is good and rocky.

Either park Hayfield way and go up Bill clough and do the west side of the plateau, come down when you feel like it. Or start in Edale and do the South side. The kids will enjoy Grindsbrook Clough that flyingmonkeycorps mentions - good scramble.

The route that flyingmonkeycorps suggests is a good one 👍

There are a couple of aircraft wrecks in the area too....Google will give you some grid refs....there's a couple not 10 mins off the Pennine way path.
