I don't use it, though I appreciate why some do. Combination of not posting enough to give a fk, and also feeling that the biggest bulb ends on here can come out with a gem from time to time - the shared passion, knowledge and experience of MTBing is common ground to all of us, even the bulb ends.
There's been one or two truly dreadful posters on here who just seemed to post bile and it was doubtful they even owned a mountain bike (lanesra was an example). Killfile would be worthwhile here, but I think the mods have their own version of the killfile for these types.
No Lanesra did ride a bike, and in his defence (bearing in mind he was particularly nasty to me personally), it did seem he had certain unresolved issues and used STW as a vent for his anger. But I don't know much about his situation so I shoon't judge him.

Also - if you want to use the killfile then making statements about how you're ignoring a particular poster is pathetic and counterproductive IMO. Just use it and enjoy the silence.
This declaring-that-I-am-ignoring-you is against the rules on some vbulletin boards with ignore functions, because it just leads to ridiculous exchanges where people insult one another by proxy.
