Anyone got any suggestions for a drone suitable for a 6 year old? He had a cheapie one before that he loved using but wasn't particularly robust to the inevitable crashes and died pretty quickly. Found several reviews online but most seem to be of models pitched at older kids.

Tello. My 6yo loves his. Ok it’s a touch expensive but has tech by DJI and flues beautifully even in light winds.

Good camera too and easy to use app. Can be programmed via Raspberry Pi too - not played with this functionality yet but looks fun.

Robust little bugger too - highly recommend

Our kids (8 and 10) have the Smiggle quadcopter and it's surprisingly good for £30.

I had a £100 Parrot model a couple of years back, was really easy to fly as could auto hover, much easier to learn on than others that shoot about all over the place until you get the knack/trim it right (6 year old nephew was fine with it, I ended up giving it to him as soon got bored with it myself). They don't sell it anymore but a quick look on their site suggests the Mambo Fly model could be a decent alternative (seems heavily discounted on Amazon to).

Tello for a kid. Simply brilliant. Under 250g so no need for CAA etc and a reasonable camera. Can also be programmed irrc using Scratch or the like.
