One of my American colleagues just introduced me to this website and it's incredible; think Wikipedia in mini lecture form.

I'm currently working through the cosmology and astronomy lectures and it's wonderful stuff.

Your link is broken

http://www.khanacademy.org/

There is also

http://academicearth.org/ (Stanford university)

http://videolectures.net/

and plenty of good lecture series on vimeo.

This is why I love the internet, dissemination of information.

Not sure why my link didn't work but the error is one I've made before as it always link back to STW. Thanks for the fix Brick.

This kind of thing really does show the positive side of the internet.

You need some TED in your life if you want to lean instead of doing stuff:

I'm doing a Coursera course on Natural Language Processing, good stuff, and being a "proper" course with deadlines and the like certainly helps with the motivation...

So based on this thread and their Webby Award, I decided to sign up to Khan Academy and see if it was any good.

Went through some of the very basic kids maths stuff (simple arithmetic) to see how it all works and I learnt a new way to multiplication that I'd never used before 😳

Every day is a school day 😀
