Can anyone suggest a minimalist, or at least neat and tidy, way of having a set of keys where each key is easily detached?
Only three - house, car and the other car - which I like to keep together but would also like to be able to take either car key off without the faff of going round the keyring bit. Firstly, because I don't like having them all in my pocket when I've parked the car and gone for a walk or ride, and secondly, because I don't like the way they jingle jangle when they're in the car ignition - makes me nervous that the ghost of Savile is going to climb over from the backseat and hauntingly violate me somehow.
(This is so boring I fear I am but one step from being one of those American chaps that amasses an array of expensive accoutrements in order to photograph them all neatly laid out and post pictures on a website about something or other 'carries')

Yes, those two are the kind of thing - but as small and unjangly as possible.
I have a small carabiner with subsets of keys on a small keyring. With three keys this would be very neat and unjangly.
That may be the best solution.

I am often changing van keys etc in work and it is easier to just unclip my keyrings etc with one of these, also have one to hold my torch etc onto my own car keys for easy access.

Those mini carabiner/snap hook things work really well, but to properly do the job you need steel jump rings to connect the key to the mini-carabiner, like the ones on here, but there's also a whole bunch of other connectors on this site that might help as well:

Google Wunderkey, no good for car keys built brilliant for other keys.
just a normal keyring, then a attach a magnet with a wire - baam, they won't make a noise (unless you got those cheap alloy keys)
Whilst not really addressing the main issue in the OP, I saw this (www.keygenie.co.uk) today and very nearly pressed the buy button. The only trouble I figured is that a couple of my keys are deadlock style rather than Yale style, so may not nest properly
My dad always had something like this when I were a lad:-
A really nice thought out thing really, all the keys you're not using fold up inside the wallet so they're not jangling around, when you're not using it it's like a slim wallet (depending how big your keys are I suppose) and I think each key is detachable. In my youth I always thought it was a bit naff, but now i'm older and wiser on reflection it's a really clever thing.
I have one of the 'sputnik' style keyrings for my keys, I have so many attachments I had to buy another 2 keyrings for the extra attachment widgets

I have mostly gadgets on my keyring, with a few keys thrown in to be able to justify it as a keyring.
Really easy to detach items from it, like the mini multitool if I'm flying. Dead handy, and dead robust. I've used the same keyring for over 20 years, no exaggeration

Me too, continuously since '91 (except for a brief dalliance with a 'sputnik'), mine is a mini keyhole karibena. Leatherman squirt, Fexnix LD01, then house keys, garage keys, car keys, van keys, bike lock keys, anything thing else keys as required.
I use one of these mini carabiners.
