Need a key (office, not vehicle) duplicated in Glasgow area. All the Timpsons are shut, Homebase aren’t letting people in (or allowing to do for me) to use the automatic duplication machines. Any ideas on where to go?

There's a franchise called home hardware, we have one round the corner in Prestwick, who do it, worth a Google to see if you have one locally.

A few Morrison's stores have the automatic machines, might be worth checking locally. Failing that the local to me mobile locksmith is out and about in his van, he cuts keys in the back of it so try your local one.

Pick n Pay in Sale Moor village is open. But not on a Sunday. Stan will cut a key for you. You'll have to be reasonably local for this to be helpful though...

I'd have thought any independent locksmith would be able to help

(Bob's Locks in Stirling is cutting keys on a limited hours service. Details on their FB page).

Key workers should be working normally

Well done, Greybeard!

My local B&Q has a machine that does it for you but I'm not sure if that's available during the current restrictions. (was going to say lockdown but realised that it might have been misinterpreted!)

Ta for tips. B&Q (and Homebase) have the self service machines, but not allowed to use them. I think a locksmith is going to be the answer.

Good luck. I ended up ordering a new lock in the end since I couldn't get a duplicate cut anywhere and I was down to my last key.

James Timpson was on radio 4 this morning saying they were reopening where they are located inside supermarkets. Google tells me there is one in Morrison's in Glasgow, no idea if that has opened yet though
