I'm wondering if anybody has been to this?
I can't be bothered cycling over Winter so will just be doing some running instead and have entered the Kendal Mountain Festival 10k- am wondering if anyone knows how hilly it is and also whether there's much else on in and around Kendal for the Festival?
I gather it's mostly films and talks etc around an outdoors kind of theme? The run is on Saturday but if there's other stuff on I might stay for a day on Friday or Sunday as well.
Cheers

Bike night on Saturday should be good. We went last year and we've booked our tickets for this year.
Danny Mac headlining bike night.
🙂
We have been going for years mainly for bike night (in the early years it was bike and boat/kayak/canoe etc as there were not enough films for just bikes...)
Now getting more commercial, but still entertainment of sorts.
Sometimes I do hark back to the old days...when real folk would chat and show films/slides from their adventures and not just commercial films;)...there was one year and the intro short clip had a MTBer downhill in woods and he got it wrong and landed on his nuts @##! virtually the whole audience took an intake of breath at the same time:)
Slightly OT, but I would like to see Guy just chat about tea in America from his visits...but appreciate not everyone cuppa tea including his own!
Enjoy the run and atmosphere around the place, hope the weather holds, cu in the bar 😉
It appears Danny is just talking and not demonstrating. 😐

We've got tickets for Bike Night this year 🙂
Is there some kind of exclusive deal with Santa Cruz on the bike night headliners BTW?
Hasn't it been Ratboy, Greg Minnaar & now Danny?
We went to last years 'bike night' & we've booked our tickets again for this year, looking forward to it!
We'll be at the bike night on Saturday.
Tom and Dom's Alpkit Mountain Journal film is in the competition.

it's a Santa Cruz-sponsored event.
Going back to the OP's question - me and the wife did the 10k last year and it was great. Up a big hill, along for a bit, back down the hill and back into town. The last bit is a mega-steep cobbled ginnel which had a few people on their arse.
Dan Milner is there showing his new film too.
